L.A. Eyeworks was founded on September 9, 1979, by Barbara McReynolds and Gai Gherardi with the mission to challenge traditional eyewear norms and create provocative, face-revealing designs. Starting with a single store on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, the brand has since become a global name in optical innovation, with two flagship stores and a wholesale business serving independent opticians worldwide.
