Contact lens clinic
We are proud to offer a comprehensive contact lens clinic, where we fit all types of contact lenses, including specialty contact lenses. We understand that every patient's eye shape and vision requirements are unique, and we strive to find the perfect fit for each individual.
- Gas Permeable. One type of specialty contact lens that we offer is hard gas permeable lenses. These lenses are made of a rigid, durable material that allows oxygen to pass through, providing excellent clarity of vision. They are particularly useful for patients with regular or irregular astigmatism, or those who require a higher degree of vision correction. We take great care in fitting these lenses to ensure optimal comfort and vision.
- Keratoconus. Another type of specialty contact lens we offer is for for keratoconus, a condition where the cornea thins and changes shape, causing distorted vision. Computerised topography enables us to custom design these lenses to optimise the fit to your cornea, providing clearer vision and improving comfort. We are experienced in fitting these lenses and have helped many patients with keratoconus achieve excellent vision with contact lenses.
- Orthokeratology. Additionally, we offer ortho-k lenses, also known as orthokeratology lenses. These are special contact lenses worn overnight that gently reshape the cornea while the patient sleeps, providing clear vision during the day without the need for glasses or contact lenses. These lenses can be particularly useful for teenagers who may not be suitable candidates for laser eye surgery.
- Soft disposable contact lenses are particularly popular amongst patients who lead an active lifestyle or who are looking for a convenient and hassle-free alternative to eyeglasses. They come in various types, including daily disposables, two-week disposables, and monthly disposables, giving patients the flexibility to choose the option that suits their needs best. Daily disposable contact lenses are the most convenient option, as they are worn for only one day and then discarded. This eliminates the need for lens cleaning and maintenance, making them ideal for patients who have a busy schedule or who do not want to spend too much time on lens care. Two-week and monthly disposable contact lenses require more maintenance than daily disposables, but they are still a convenient option for patients who prefer not to wear eyeglasses. These lenses need to be removed and cleaned regularly to maintain proper hygiene and avoid eye infections.
